Show me the proof
You tend to be so hard wired by the time you’re in your 40s
That to do something new or to even be asked to seems just downright weird or wrong even.
So you more often than not
get very good at finding reasons not to.
So when someone says it’ll be good for you
It’ll be fun or exciting
You often just cross your arms and stick out your chin.
Or just go about your business as if you hadn’t heard anything at all.
You can usually find the evidence you need not to do anything with any half hearted googling.
It seems to me you’ve lost the art of experimentation.
And even more so, living on the edge of
Now that’s a scary thought
Who likes to feel incompetent
Now most people will find all sorts of reasons not to go into that sort of space.
But if continuing to do what you are now keeps you in the same place and that’s not where you want to be.
What choice to you have?
Choosing different will feel uncomfortable, unnatural, wrong.
Being ok with experimenting
Running a test
A bit of trial and error.
And get the evidence your brain and subconscious needs to create lasting change.
How will you ever know if you don’t try.
And just think of this
As a baby you didn’t stop trying to walk just because you fell down a few times.
You kept at it.
So why not now.
